Step 1: Attaining a basic Bachelor’s Degree:

The first step towards your aspiration will be to complete your Bachelor’s Degree program and earn yourself a subsequent degree. The duration of this program is mostly four years and aspiring candidates do not have any restriction on any particular subject as their major. So, it does not matter whether candidates aspire to become property lawyers in Cape Town, or Durban, or Johannesburg, a basic Bachelor’s Degree is what actually matters.

Step 2: Passing the pre-law school entrance examination:

In the next step, you need to prepare yourself methodically to pass the entrance examination of the law school in your city. These tests mostly test your verbal abilities and reasoning power. So, you need to prepare yourself accordingly.

Step 3: Pursing the law school degree:

If you get successful in passing the pre-law school entrance examination then you become eligible to study law in any of the government accredited institutions in your area. The basic course at the law school has a usual tenure of four to five years. The course comprise of basic knowledge on legal issues during its initial period, while the later part of the same introduce students to elective subjects that they wish to seek as per their preferences.  These electives can be real estate law, criminal law, corporate law, industrial law, or something similar to these.
